Douglas High School softball saw its spring season end Friday afternoon with a 9-3 loss to Bishop Manogue at the Miners home field.

Reed and Spanish Springs will go on to the Class 5A state tournament this coming week at Hixson Park on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno.

Palo Verde won the Class 5A South regional title over Centennial.

After trailing 6-3 through six innings, Spanish Springs won the first game, 10-7, before grabbing another victory in the winner-take-all final, 13-9.

The Tigers conclude the season with a 23-10 record after finishing the regular season as the No. 3 team in the Class 5A North.

Friday against Bishop Manogue, Douglas plated three runs to tie the game 3-3 in the fifth, but surrendered six runs over the final two frames.

Cam Coats had a double and an RBI while Ida Martin also recorded a hit and a run batted in.
