A bench warrant in the amount of $5,000 was issued for the arrest of Shemeca Renee Cottle Monday after she failed to appear for a review hearing.
Cottle was arrested Oct. 24, 2024, with co-defendant Bradly Howard Mears. They were pulled over at Stateline for a broken headlight when 9 grams of methamphetamine was discovered in the vehicle, according to court documents.
Cottle was granted diversion during an April 12 hearing and was ordered to follow the plan she was put on through the San Francisco Unified Family Court and appear on Monday for a review hearing.
• A non-U.S. citizen faces up to four years in prison and deportation for attempted burglary. Manuel Para-Lopez, 24, was arrested April 15 after he entered Famous Footwear with the intent to commit larceny.
The case may be treated as either a felony or a misdemeanor at sentencing. If it is treated as a felony he could be sentenced up to four years in prison and charged $5,000, if treated as a misdemeanor he could be sentenced to 364 days in Douglas County Jail and fined $2,000.
Deportation is not determined by Douglas County District Judge Thomas Gregory.
• A woman faces five years in prison for possession of methamphetamine.
Crystal Ann Cortes, 46, was arrested Feb. 24 with 16 grams of methamphetamine. Sentencing is scheduled for July 7.
