Genoa, Nev. — Two members of the Vacation Home Rental Advisory Board spoke to commissioners about proposed changes to the ordinance. The board will get a look at what’s proposed and will be able to make some suggestions. It didn’t sound like there was an appetite to dissolve the board among commissioners, but that could change.
Rate increases for T-Hangars at the Airport and a franchise fee agreement with Southwest Gas were approved by county commissioners on Thursday. The company serves 23,000 homes and businesses in Douglas County.
Commissioners also approved the $1.344 million contract with Carson City Health and Human Services. The county doesn’t pay the full amount, because they’re reimbursed by fees charged by the district to conduct health inspections in Douglas.

You wouldn’t know it to look outside, but there’s a slight chance of rain after 2 p.m. today. There’s not a cloud in the sky this morning with a forecast high temperature of 76 degrees, and the wind out of the west at 5-10 mph this afternoon.
