Genoa, Nev. — For every mile of paved road that Douglas County maintains there is another mile that the county never accepted for maintenance for a variety of reasons. Meanwhile, the backlog for road maintenance is up to $60 million, County Manager Jenifer Davidson said on Wednesday.

A resolution setting new rates for T-hangars at Minden-Tahoe Airport goes before Douglas County commissioners today. The county is splitting the 14-cent per square-foot increase between this year and next year.

After the mid-budget process check-in on Wednesday, county commissioners are discussing $5.58 million in budget augments today. There are some supplemental requests in the budget that might see some of that money. Commissioners meet 10 a.m. today at the Douglas County Courthouse in Minden.

The Peace Officer Memorial Run passed through Douglas County on Wednesday. The annual ceremony at the memorial on the Capital grounds is 1 p.m. today in Carson City.

Snow levels forecast with this weekend’s storm are continuing to rise only dropping to 7,000 feet overnight on Saturday with any snow accumulation predicted for the highest Sierra passes.

There are a lot of outdoor events on Saturday that might see a little rain. Total accumulations in Minden are predicted to run around a tenth of an inch, so not much in the overall scheme of things.

Today is predicted to be sunny with a high temperature near 74 degrees with the wind out of the north at 5 mph this afternoon. The high temperature this week is forecast to peak at 77 degrees on Friday.
