Expand-Able Horizons hosted its inaugural Horizons of Hope Gala at Minden Mercantile on Saturday, raising funds to support adults with developmental disabilities.

The event, attended by approximately 100 guests, featured a dinner by La Mere Lutz Catering, live music by Jakota Wass, and a silent auction.

All proceeds from the gala will benefit Expand-Able Horizons, a newly founded nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the lives of adults with developmental disabilities.

“Through activities, education, skills training, and coaching, the organization empowers individuals towards independent living,” organization President Keith Lewis said. “In the long term, Expand-Able Horizons aims to establish an all-day program that provides even more opportunities for these adults to grow and thrive.”

Lewis said he was grateful for the event’s support.

“We are truly humbled and appreciative of the support for our organization, and the generosity of those that attended the Horizons of Hope Gala,” he said. “While the adults we serve may all face unique challenges, there is one thing they don’t face: a lack of potential. The success of this fundraiser will go a long way to ensuring we provide the ability for our members to reach their full potential.”

Lewis said Expand-Able Horizons is one step closer to making a lasting impact in the lives of its members.
