Genoa, Nev. — There was a little bit of snow was visible flying across the Daggett Summit traffic camera at nvroads.com this morning as a winter weather advisory begins for the Sierra through 10 p.m. Thursday.

As of 5:30 a.m., I’m not seeing any road controls at nvroads.com, but that may change fairly quickly this morning depending on how the storm arrives. Radar shows a band of moisture heading this way.

Gardnerville Town Board members opted Tuesday night to do what they can with what they have on the town’s roads. Workers just finished a big crack seal project in Chichester, which will likely be followed by a cape seal to preserve the existing pavement as part of the town’s five-year capital improvement plan.

Capital improvements and the budget will be near the top of Minden Town Board members’ agenda when they meet 5:30 p.m. tonight in the CVIC Hall. I understand there’s a push for a dog park and pickleball courts as part of the town’s plan.

Minden Town Manager J.D. Frisby is suggesting moving the town’s big Highway 395 waterline replacement project back a year. The town was planning the work to coincide with proposed work on Highway 395, if I remember right.

Candy Dance isn’t until Sept. 27-28 this year, but it will be the main topic at the Genoa Town Board, which meets starting 4:30 p.m. today. Raising the fee for parking and a proposed flat fee for the organizations involved in that and clean-up are on the table at the Genoa Town Hall.

A bathroom and pavilion on the east side of Minden-Tahoe Airport will cost an estimated $728,853, Manager Heather MacDonnell told Douglas County Parks & Recreation advisors on Tuesday night. Advisory Board Chairwoman Kelly Gardner asked the airport folks to come back when they do their projects list.

The forecast is calling for maybe a fifth of an inch of rain in Minden today, with what snow there may be arriving around sunset. The high temperature is expected to be around 46 degrees with the wind light at 5 mph out of the west.
