Genoa, Nev. — Conditions might be a little slick over the passes this morning, though nvroads.com isn’t showing any controls as of 6 a.m. Douglas and Carson rescuers responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 50 near Golf Club Drive.

There was a snow plow working Daggett Summit this morning, which looks a little icy on the traffic camera. Nothing spectacular, but a reminder to take it slow if your travels take you to Tahoe this morning.

A couple of collisions resulted in ambulance rides over the weekend. Around 2:50 p.m. Friday traffic was backed up by a collision at 395 and Genoa Lane. One of the four people involved opted for transport via East Fork. There was a head-on around 2 p.m. Sunday at Main Street and Centertowne in Gardnerville.

There was a good turnout for the Scouts at Family Day hosted by the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville on Saturday. I bought cookies.

A winter weather advisory for the Sierra was cancelled at 1 a.m. today as the weather moved into the Nevada outback, where there is a winter storm warning in effect above 5,000 feet until 10 a.m. today.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service’s Jeff Anderson and co. will be hiking in to check on the snow pack at the Mount Rose snow telemetry site this morning. It’s one of the few with more than 90 percent snow water equivalent as of midnight.

There’s not a gauge on the National Weather Service site in Carson Valley that recorded a drop of precipitation over the weekend. There was a flurry in Genoa around 5 p.m. Sunday that appeared to be blowing off the mountain.

Today’s forecast is for mostly sunny skies and a high temperature near 53 degrees. The wind will shift to the northwest at 5-10 mph later this morning.
