Local senior living professional Jessica Maidlow has been named Community Sales Director of the Year by her parent company, Pegasus Senior Living, a recognition given annually across dozens of communities nationwide.
Maidlow is the Sales Director at The Chateau at Gardnerville, where sheās known for her compassionate approach to helping older adults and their families make life-changing decisions. She started in senior living as a CNA at just 17 years old. Years later, she returned to the very same community, only to find residents who still remembered her.
āThat was the moment I knew I was home,ā Maidlow said.
Her story is one of local roots, long-standing relationships, and quiet impact. Now sheās being recognized for it on a national scale.
In April, she took part in Carson Valleyās āGotta Danceā fundraiser at CVIC Hall in Minden, despite having no formal dance experience. She not only took home the title of āMost Money Raisedā but also wowed the crowd and judges to win āBest Danceā of the night. Her efforts benefited the Suicide Prevention Network, a nonprofit supporting mental health services across Douglas County and beyond.
āIf I made just one person smile that night, I already feel like Iāve won,ā she told organizers.
Maidlow leads with the belief that how people feel during lifeās most difficult transitions matters more than any sales pitch. Her go-to quote, framed in her home, is from Maya Angelou:
