Carson Valley Middle School’s 2025 Career Fair went off without a hitch on May 23, as students were given an opportunity to explore potential career paths and connect with community leaders. The event welcomed nearly 30 participants, including local businesses, clubs, service organizations, and representatives from both state and county offices.

Throughout the afternoon, students rotated through the fair, spending over an hour and a half engaging with the professionals. Booths and displays offered interactive experiences, informative materials, and one-on-one conversations, allowing students to ask questions and gather insights into various career fields and community roles.

From emergency services and agriculture to technology, trades, and public service, the fair highlighted a diverse range of professions. Representatives shared what a day in their job looks like, the education and skills required, and personal advice for students considering their futures.

“Events like this are vital in helping students visualize their futures and understand how their education connects to the real world,” said Practical Assessment Exploration System instructor Heather Stodieck Barker. “We’re incredibly grateful to our community partners for supporting our students in such a meaningful way.”

The Career Fair not only encouraged students to think about long-term goals but also fostered stronger school-community ties—an essential part of student success and growth.
