Sierra Shadows Lavender and Honey Farm is hosting a fundraiser for Douglas Animal Welfare 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 19 at 729 Indian Trail Road, Gardnerville.

In addition to photo shoots, “DAWG Days of Summer” will feature vendors with dog-inspired items for purchase.
Rachel Alloway of Sage River Photography will be on hand to take photos of participants’ dogs. The cost for the photo is $10.
All proceeds go directly to the Douglas Animal Welfare Group in support of the shelter medical program, which funds medical care for animals at the Douglas County Animal Services shelter.
“What a great way to capture this moment in time with your beloved pet as well as helping animals in need to become healthy and whole and to find their forever home,” said DAWG President Adrienne Chaney.
In 2024, DAWG’s Shelter Medical program provided $35,100 for wellness exams, dental work, senior exams, x-rays, surgeries, and post-adoption medical assistance.
“DAWG Days of Summer” photo sessions are limited and can be reserved at sierrashadowslavender.com/event. For questions, call Sierra Shadows Lavender Farm at 775-495-0105.
