Members of the Sierra-Tahoe Branch of the Fleet Reserve participated in the Carson Valley Days Parade on June 14, which also happened to be Flag Day.
Fleet Reserve honored to participate
Editor:
It was an honor for the Sierra-Tahoe Branch & Unit No. 137 of the Fleet Reserve to participate with our community in the Carson Valley Days Parade – June 14.
The Fleet Reserve Association is an organization of veterans that served in the Navy, Marine and Coast Guard and are always at the forefront of supporting active military and veterans’ health care, wages and benefits, and other quality-of-life programs.
Together with the Auxiliary, they play an active role in our community by sponsoring youth programs, welfare projects, social and patriotic activities.

Thanks for supporting science camp
Editor:
We are writing to express our heartfelt gratitude to the following local businesses for their generous contributions that will enable our fifth-grade students from Scarselli Elementary to attend the Great Basin Outdoor Science Camp in the fall of 2025, JackRabbit Plumbing, Elite Air Systems, Marty’s Appliance, Riley’s Heating and Air Ltd., Carson Valley Health, Douglas Disposal and James Gocke, APRN.
After many years without this incredible educational experience, we are thrilled to bring back the Outdoor Science Camp for our students. Your support makes it possible for our 5th graders to explore, learn, and connect with nature in a meaningful way.
If any businesses and/or members of our community would like to contribute to this amazing opportunity for our students, please contact the school office at 775-265-2222.
