Genoa, Nev. — East Fork Fire Protection District Trustees are scheduled to finalize hiring the first new chief as an independent board when they meet 1 p.m. today in their offices at 1694 County Road to discuss his contract.
Under the five-year contract, trustees would pay new Chief Alan Ernst $346,108 in salary and benefits a year. The termination clause says the district board can fire the chief at any time without cause with three months severance.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday was another busy one for Tahoe-Douglas medics who responded to two skiers hitting trees and a fall at 11 a.m. and again around 12:30 p.m. One required a helicopter ride and the other two were transported to Barton Hospital.
