Genoa, Nev. — A collision on Boulder Court resulted in a report of one sport utility vehicle falling on top of another around 3 p.m. Sunday after reportedly sliding on ice, according to Douglas County dispatch. There was no report of injury.

East Fork firefighters were called to Alpine County for a reported drowning around 2:50 p.m. I’ll follow up today in hopes of learning something, but with the holiday that might not come to fruition.

I’ve been hearing a lot of medical calls up at the Lake for injuries involving various snow-related mishaps. Someone hit a tree late Friday morning and there was another injury call late in the afternoon at Heavenly that required a helicopter ride.

Local, state and federal offices are closed for Martin Luther King Jr. day today. The R-C, along with many businesses that aren’t banks, will be open today.

A lake wind advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. for Lake Tahoe with easterly winds 15-25 mph, gusting to 35 mph. Waves are forecast to hit 1-3 feet, so not a particularly good day for boating, though maybe for surfing.

It’s chilly out this morning with Minden-Tahoe Airport reporting 21 degrees and a forecast high temperature of 38 degrees thanks to a 5-10 mph north wind. Temperatures are supposed to bounce back into the mid-50s on Tuesday.
