It will be a half-dozen years since The Record-Courier last celebrated Carson Valley’s Most Remarkable Women.

“I have been asked over the past few years when The Remarkable Women will be back and 2025 is the year,” said R-C Associate Publisher Tara Addeo. “I couldn’t be more excited, the timing is perfect.”

This year’s event will be March 13 at the Carson Valley Inn.

“When we had this event in 2018 and 2019, it sold out both years and the response honoring our community women was overwhelming,” Addeo said.

The newspaper is seeking nominations through Feb. 12 in seven categories, including Business- Entrepreneurship, Community Involvement, Mother, Mentor-Teacher, Woman to Watch, Young Professional (under 3 years in a profession) and Future President for those 13-18 years old.

Addeo is asking for nominations for women, who are not only part of your everyday life, but who are also unsung heroes and have earned the right to be recognized as remarkable. She said the entries will be judged by a carefully selected group of peers based on the nomination rather than how many people nominate the person in question.

“We added a category of future president because well, it’s time, and that leader may just be in our own community and it may just empower a future generation of young women,” Addeo said. “We need role models to celebrate, learn from and aspire to be. Every woman brings value by contributing unique skills, backgrounds, perspectives and experiences and we want to recognize these Carson Valley women with this event.”

Addeo asked that those nominating women include a photo where possible. The R-C will be publishing a special edition on April 2.
