A Mound House man who admitted touching a teenager at a high school party in 2022 was sentenced to 1-3 years in prison on Tuesday.

Damascus Trevor Fox Woodside, 24, was intoxicated when he started fondling the teen.

The victim wrote in an impact statement that he started cutting himself and contemplated suicide, eventually seeking mental health treatment.

Woodside said he didn’t realize he was being sought for a crime until he was arrested last year on a warrant.

“Being drunk does not excuse your behavior,” Young said. “Should the victim ever read this transcript, none of this was (his) fault. These acts were Mr. Woodside’s and all his doing.”

In addition to the prison sentence, Woodside must pay $2,678 for the psychosexual evaluation and fees.

A Feb. 19-25 trial has been canceled in the case of Jason Michael Breidenbach, 47, after a guilty plea agreement was filed in district court on Tuesday.

Breidenbach was reportedly under the influence when he allegedly touched a 13-year-old girl and tried to take off her mask.

As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors won’t seek sanctions against Breidenbach for violating his bail conditions.

Both sides will be able to argue for any sentence up to six years at his April 15 sentencing.

In order to be eligible for probation, Breidenbach must undergo a psychosexual evaluation and found not to be a high risk to reoffend.

Prosecutor Chelsea Mazza and attorney Theresa Ristenpart said the plea agreement does not include a requirement that Breidenbach register as a sex offender. Mazza said she expected two victim impact statements would be included at the sentencing.
