A Carson City man who was arrested after a brief vehicle pursuit through the Gardnerville Ranchos on the day after Thanksgiving waived a preliminary hearing in East Fork Justice Court on Wednesday.

According to his attorney, Brad Alan Lunger, 49, will enter a guilty plea in Douglas County District Court to attempted eluding.

Under an agreement, prosecutors will recommend a suspended 28-72-month prison sentence.

Lunger also entered a guilty plea to a second instance of driving under the influence. Lunger had a blood alcohol content of .335 when he was arrested.

Lunger was spotted driving a 2007 Toyota at 20 mph in the 35 mph zone on Centerville near Waterloo Lane 10:55 a.m. Nov. 29.

A deputy reported the Toyota was swerving in the travel lane before driving off the pavement into the dirt before going back into the lane. The deputy conducted a traffic stop at Centerville a quarter mile north of Dresslerville.

As he got out of his patrol vehicle, the Toyota took off and turned east on Dresslerville before turning south on Tillman.

The Toyota sped up to 50 mph and passed southbound traffic in the northbound lane before reportedly running the stop sign at Manhattan.

The vehicle then slowed to 20-25 mph and the deputy decided to conduct a pursuit intervention technique to get him to stop.

• Two people who reportedly pointed a firearm at Gardnerville Ranchos residents in order to retrieve a dog waived their preliminary hearings last week.

Matthew Americus Field, 20, of Carson City and Christy Marie Field, 39, of Sparks are accused of entering the home and brandishing a firearm on Oct. 4.

According to his attorney, Matthew Field will enter a guilty plea on a charge of robbery in Douglas County District Court, according to his attorney. He faces an underlying sentence of up to 10 years when he appears for arraignment.

Christy Field’s attorney said she would plead guilty to battery with a deadly weapon when she appears in Douglas County District Court after she waived her hearing on Friday.

• A 73-year-old Gardnerville man, who was pulled over in a motorhome that was swerving all over the road Jan. 9, was back in custody on Friday.

Jimmie Lee Reimann appeared in East Fork Justice Court on an alternative sentencing violations after he allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine.

He was arrested early Thursday morning.

Prosecutor Kallie Nelson asked for a $500 cash bail, since she said Reimann doesn’t appear to abide by conditions.

Reimann still has the case involving the motorhome and an instance of failing to register as an ex-felon. He served two stretches in Nevada prison for being under the influence of a controlled substance in Douglas in 2018 and for grand larceny of a motor vehicle out of Lyon County in 2021, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.
