Genoa, Nev. — The Carson Valley Arts Council was the sole nonprofit to provide a request for proposal to operate Carson Valley Cinemas, should county commissioners agree to buy it on Thursday. There was a Lake Tahoe resident who submitted a proposal, according to Community Services Director Brook Adie.
Genoa Historic District Commission Chairwoman Denise Huiner is proposing closing the district’s post office box and its bank account, donating the money to the town at today’s 4:30 p.m. meeting in the Town Meeting Room. The commission has had both since the 1980s and is paying $182 a year for the box.
Suicide Prevention Network will be filling in for Jobs in Nevada’s Denise Castle as the speaker noon today at the Good Governance Group at the COD Casino in Minden. Bring $5 for the room.
School is out through Friday for ski week. Watch out for children around the parks and pool. After last weekend, there might even be some out skiing. The Whittell High School ski team came in second place in the state after wrapping up their season at Kirkwood last week.
Even the vague possibility that it might snow on Wednesday has disappeared from the forecast. Today is predicted to be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 52 degrees and wind out of the southwest at 5 mph.
