A Carson City man is in custody in connection with a death that occurred on Thursday night in Kings Lane.
Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley said deputies responded around 10:20 p.m. to a report from neighbors of shots fired in the neighborhood.
Deputies found Charles Edward Wilkinson, 27, dead from gunshot wounds.
“The investigation has determined that there is probable cause to believe that Gary Allen Dillishaw, a 25-year-old male from Carson City, killed Wilkinson,” Coverley said. “Dillishaw fled the scene in a white 2009 Honda Accura with Nevada license plate 922V73.”
At approximately 6:15 a.m. Friday, the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dillishaw after a short vehicle pursuit.
Dillishaw will be booked into the Mineral County Jail on the Douglas County murder charge, Coverley said.
Dillishaw was convicted of home invasion and assault with a deadly weapon in 2019.
A Douglas County jury found Dillishaw guilty of breaking into an Indian Hills home while he was wearing a mask wielding a tactical tomahawk, according to a Nov. 23, 2019, Record-Courier story.
He was sentenced to 2-6 years in December 2019.
According to the Nevada Department of Corrections, Dillishaw’s last parole board hearing was on Feb. 7, 2022.
