The rain was coming down in buckets north of Genoa on Saturday night, prompting a little flooding from Sierra Creek.
Genoa, Nev. — East Fork medics transported a man reportedly mauled by what a caller described as a half-dozen pit bulls around noon Sunday from Dark Brush in Dresslerville. He was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center via ambulance after the weather grounded Care Flight.
Barton Health is under orders from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency to submit a plan today after the weekend’s rain resulted in sediment runoff from its proposed site in Stateline.
It rained a lot over the weekend, with Fredericksburg resident Jeff Garvin reporting 2.43 inches over 48 hours. I had 2.3 inches in my gauge around the same time. That largess of moisture didn’t extend into the middle of the Valley with Minden Tahoe Airport reporting .01 inches from the entire affair.
It is only 5 degrees cooler out this morning than Sunday’s high of 59 degrees. Today’s high is supposed to top out at 58 degrees. There’s a lot of energy in the atmosphere, which confirms a storm is in the wind.
The high wind warning for Western Nevada has been extended until 10 p.m. today bringing another blast of weather. Minden is looking at 35 mph south wind gusts with 15-20 mph sustained winds, so not quite as blustery as Sunday. Minden might see some rain starting around 4 p.m
