A Gardnerville man admitted to the possession of 212 images and 22 videos of children under the age of 16 of a sexual nature.

Luke Easton Simpson, 28, appeared out of custody in Douglas County District Court on Tuesday with his attorney.

The charge is a felony punishable by up to six years in prison.

Under an agreement, prosecutors will recommend no more than 19-48 months.

In order to be considered for probation, Simpson must obtain a psycho-sexual evaluation that determines he is not a high risk to re-offend.

While he won’t be subject to lifetime supervision, he must register as a sex offender and a felon.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 15.
