Monitor Pass has reopened after Saturday’s storm, which prompted California Department of Transportation crews to move the closure for Highway 4 back to the junction of Highway 89. Having a couple of inches more snow may have slowed down reopening Ebbetts Pass a bit.

Gardnerville’s Borda Land and Sheep Co. is monitoring around 900 sheep who are eating their way to fire safety in the Thomas Creek and Whites Creek watersheds up in Reno, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
