After a dozen years, the Town of Gardnerville will launch a process to update its strategic plan.
As part of this initiative, the Town Board will hold two workshop sessions on May 14, at the Town of Gardnerville Administrative Office, located at 1407 Main St.
“The Town Board has expressed a unified desire to update the strategic plan,” said Town Manager Erik Nilssen. “For years, the board’s membership was semi-static, with members sharing a common vision. Now, with three new members joining in the past year, we’re seeing fresh perspectives and evolving priorities.”
The public is encouraged to attend. The workshop will feature two sessions at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A lunch break will be held between sessions however, no town business will be discussed during this time. The meeting will be facilitated by Scott Morgan of S.A. Morgan 394 Consulting.
Topics of discussion may include a review of the town’s current vision, mission, strategic priorities, organizational values, and initiatives from the 2013 strategic plan. The workshop will also explore the challenges and opportunities the town may face over the next five years.
The current strategic plan requires updates to reflect the town’s progress during the past decade. The revised plan is expected to be reviewed annually and serve as a living document—an operational roadmap that adapts to the town’s evolving needs.
Following the workshop, a draft strategic plan will be prepared for future consideration and possible adoption by the Town Board.
