The Easter Bunny hopped around Carson Valley on Sunday dropping more than 15,000 eggs at the Carson Valley Swim Center and Lampe Park.

At the Swim Center nearly 200 children jumped into the pools for the underwater egg hunt.

The underwater egg hunt has been a Carson Valley favorite since 2018 and every year it grows, said aquatic supervisor Justin Gross.

“We love this event, it’s something different and so much fun,” said Megan Parker who traveled from Dayton for the event. “We heard about it last year and were determined to come again this year.”

Six-year-old Westley Parker made himself a goal to collect more eggs than he did last year.

After children collected eggs, they traded them in for prizes.

At the Lampe Park, the Carson Valley Active 20-30 club held their annual Easter Egg hunt with 12,000 plastic eggs scattered between three fields and the most golden eggs they have ever had, according to 20/30 Club Vice President and Egg Hunt Chairman Max “Ol’ Lippy” Whear.

“The Chocolate Shoppe donated 25 Easter Baskets this year, so we had 25 golden eggs total with 8 eggs in the 0-3 and 4-8 age groups, and 9 in the 9-12 group,” said Wheeler.

Whear said this year’s event was sponsored by ReMax, and they had donations from the Chocolate Shoppe, and Northwest Martial Arts donated 2,000 eggs.

The 20/30 club members spent 9-12 hours stuffing and prepping the eggs for the hunt with some help from Douglas County Flag Football team Excel Elite, said Whear.

“This egg hunt is a tradition in this Valley and every year it’s very well received with the turn out being overwhelming and every year we try to make it bigger and better,” said Whear.

The Easter Bunny made his appearance at both events high fiving kids and stopping for pictures with families.
