The second week of May is National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week and Moxy Up Youth Mentoring Center is rallying support for the community to support this cause through a May 3 event for children’s mental health.

“Moxy Up provides a safe place for youth to learn, grow and have a voice during a time when they feel vulnerable,” said Moxy Up Executive Director Coleen Lawrence. “As a team we thank the youth and family for allowing us on their journey. May 3 is a day of celebration, a day where we can all dance, play and have fun as a community.”

The 2nd annual “Lets Rally Carson Valley” is growing to three live bands including Jake Jacobson, Luke and Kaylee and Ev and the Electric Soup. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a Cornhole Tournament for $30 a team. East Fork Fire Professionals will be out at the event grilling food and serving beverages.

The event will be hosted at Park Home Ranch Venue starting at 3 p.m. All proceeds will support youth mental health and autism services provided through Moxy Up, which are free to Douglas County youth. Tickets may be purchased on Eventbrite. Youth under 15 are free. Discounts are available for first responders, veterans, medical and teachers.
