Genoa, Nev. — County commissioners voted 3-2 in favor of using eminent domain to obtain the land required to complete the segment of Muller Parkway north of Buckeye. On its face, the issue between Park Ranch Holdings and the county is a ditch. Work on the Parkway is underway south of Buckeye Road.

There were a lot of outdoorsy booths at the Carson Valley Business Showcase on Thursday, but there were some treats and swag, as well. One woman told me she gets her pen supply from the Showcase.

An Autism Resource Fair organized by Family Support Council and community volunteers is 1-5 p.m. today at the CVIC Hall, 1604 Esmeralda Ave, Minden.

Easter is Sunday and in addition to services, some churches are also conducting egg hunts for the children. The Carson Valley Active 20-30 Club hunt at Lampe Park is 1 p.m. Sunday. Carson Valley Swim Center’s underwater egg hunt is 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

East Fork firefighters and Douglas deputies responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a deer between Holbrook Junction and Topaz Lake around 9:45 a.m. Thursday. Only the vehicle required transport.

It’s a little bit chilly out on this Good Friday with the airport recording 30 degrees at 6 a.m. The forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 59 degrees. A northeast wind is predicted to hit 10-15 mph this afternoon.
