One of the traditions for the 27-year-old Carson Valley Business Showcase is the unveiling of the annual Carson Valley Days button by the Carson Valley Lions Club.

Club member Ron Santi said this year’s button features a dinosaur and the old jail, hearkening back to the days when not having a button at the parade would win you a ride on the club’s jail float. Buttons are $2.

Thursday’s event adds an outdoor recreation component providing connection, opportunity, and adventure under one roof 3-6 p.m. the Douglas County Community & Senior Center.

“The Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce invites the community to experience the energy, innovation, and connections of the 2025 Business & Outdoor Recreation Showcase,” said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Alicia Main.

The business showcase is the biggest business event of the year, according to the Chamber of Commerce’s website, where local businesses display their products and services to hundreds of attendees.

“The Outdoor Recreation Showcase spotlights the adventure and beauty of Carson Valley,” said Main. “Attendees can connect with outdoor experts and agencies such as Travel Nevada, Carson Valley Trails Association, and the Nevada Division of Outdoor Recreation, with even more partners ready to inspire your next great adventure.”

Attendees can expect an all-new layout designed for increased visibility and more interaction as they explore local small business, county departments, nonprofits, service providers, and more.

“Whether you’re new to the area or a lifelong resident, this event is your chance to discover resources, build connections, and enjoy a true community celebration,” said Main.

Admission is free, and everyone is entered to win one of many raffle prizes, plus the free Grand Prize Drawing just for attending.

“The Showcase is where Carson Valley comes together,” said Main. “Don’t miss your chance to connect with the businesses and organizations that help our community thrive.”

Carson Valley Days buttons will go on sale at area businesses after the Showcase. Carson Valley Days is June 12-15 with the parade on Flag Day. The theme this year is Jurassic Valley.
