Reno High School baseball (11-7, 3-1 in Class 5A North league play) was able to narrowly beat Carson on Tuesday, 1-0.
Reno pitcher Braden Jones did not allow a hit. The Senators used six pitchers throwing one inning each.
Thomas Palmer, Kaiden Kuhlman and Eastyn Hendrix all had one strikeout while pitching a scoreless frame. The Senators allowed three hits with the Huskies’ run crossing the plate in the second inning.
UP NEXT: Carson (4-11, 1-5) played at the University of Nevada on Thursday against Damonte Ranch (1-10, 0-6). Today, the Senators travel to Spanish Springs (11-5, 3-1) for an 11 a.m. game.

MANOGUE BEATS CARSON SOFTBALL
The Senator softball team (7-5-1, 3-1 in Class 5A North league play) put together eight hits Tuesday in an 8-2 loss against Bishop Manogue (11-5-1, 1-2).
Maddie Blanchard-Salazar, Ari Gallardo-Yanez and Kiele Franco had multi-hit days with Gallardo-Yanez and Franco each driving in an RBI.
Bishop Manogue led 4-0 through five innings before putting up four runs in the top of the sixth.
Iowa State commit Sammi Boggs struck out eight in four innings of relief work for Manogue.
UP NEXT: Carson hosted McQueen (5-7, 0-2) on Thursday before traveling to Galena (5-11-1, 0-2) for a doubleheader at 10 a.m., today.
SPANISH SPRINGS DROPS TIGER SOFTBALL
Douglas High softball (11-5, 2-1) gave up four runs in the third and three runs in the sixth in a 7-3 loss to Spanish Springs (11-6-1, 3-0) on Tuesday.
Cam McLelland was 3-for-4 with a run scored.
Juniors Marissa McLelland, Ava Gildea and Haylie Pledger all had two hits while fellow junior Cam Coats was 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
The Tigers outhit Spanish Springs 10-8, but also committed a pair of fielding errors.
Only one of the Cougars’ runs was earned. Pledger had three strikeouts in four innings. Cam McLelland struck out two.
UP NEXT: Douglas hosted Damonte Ranch (1-5, 0-1) on Thursday before traveling to Reno (1-14-1, 0-2) for a doubleheader today.
SENATOR BOYS AND GIRLS SWIM BEAT REED
The Carson High boys and girls swim teams beat Reed in head-to-head matchups last weekend.
The boys won, 128-100, while the girls won, 168-93.
Adam Zoghra-Awali won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:59 before winning the 100 fly in 57.97.
Asa Morway took the top spot in the 500 free with a time of 5:52.75.
Leif Morway won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.
The Senator boys won the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
On the girls side, Hannah Ingram dominated the freestyle events winning the 50-yard competition (26.78) and the 500-yard event (5:44.05).
Larkin Russell was first in both the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.05 and the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.64).
Gloria Dooley won the 100-yard freestyle in 1:04.81.
TIGER BOYS SWIM BEATS MANOGUE, GIRLS FALL
The Douglas High boys swim team claimed a 132-76 victory over Bishop Manogue last weekend.
Matthew Sutton was first in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:53.26. He also won the 100-yard fly in 1:01.73.
Kai Ensign won the boys 1-meter diving event with a score of 194.90 while Timothy Gleason was second (169.25).
Tristan Rowlett won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:42.92 while Baylen Rowlett won the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.28).
On the girls side, the Miners beat the Tigers 174-126.
Mia Bourassa posted a 26.80 in the 50-yard freestyle to win.
Kiley Wagstaff won the 1-meter dive with a score of 142.60.
The Tiger relay teams in the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle both won.
FALCON BASEBALL TOPS SILVER STAGE
Sierra Lutheran High baseball (3-10-1, 1-9 in Class 2A North league play) put up crooked numbers in five of seven innings Tuesday in a 15-10 win over Silver Stage (5-9, 2-8).
Freshman Noah Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a triple and a team-high four RBIs.
Sophomore Matt Fahey was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs while junior Anton Granata went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
Grayson Ricks, a junior, ended the game 4-for-5 with two RBIs and four runs scored. Senior Drew Gleiser went 3-for-4 and scored four times.
Fahey threw 3.1 scoreless innings, striking out six and walking four.
UP NEXT: The Falcons finished the three-game series with Silver Stage on Friday in a doubleheader. Sierra Lutheran’s next contest is April 11 at Battle Mountain (5-7, 4-5).
