Gardnerville’s CBP Aerial Arts presented its 2024 annual production of “The Lion King” at the Carson City Community Theater on Aug. 10.
The production featured 17 performers 8-65 years old with different experience levels, going from beginners to pre-professional aerialists with eight years of practicing this art.
The family show combined aerial arts, acting, dance and martial arts.
“Throughout the 90-minute show, pieces of music from the Disney animated and live-action movies “The Lion King” and other songwriters transported the audience to Africa immersing them people into this classic story,” said CBP Aerial Arts owner Camille Bergeron Proulx. “Projections of various backgrounds added to the experience and guided the audience through the story. Solos, duets, trios, and group acts in aerial silks, aerial hoop, aerial moon, and on the ground told this fabulous adventure in an unprecedented way.”
Bergeron Proulx said she has more than 15 years of experience in the USA, Canada, China, and France.
She studied at the Quebec Circus School in Canada and in university to be a PE teacher. She also worked for one of Cirque du Soleil’s artistic directors, Daniel Cola, the renowned Dolly Parton, and choreographed the aerial in the Nutcracker for Nevada Dance Company in 2021.
