Genoa, Nev. — It’s opening night for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office 6th annual Fright at the Fairgrounds, that is unless you’re little, then it’s opening day. The not-so scary version is 3-5:30 p.m. Full scare is 6-9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through to Halloween.

Expect more from the Blue Angels today as they conduct their practice runs across the Valley. I received an entire squadron of photos from folks taking pictures from the ground. Not that I'm immune to running outside with my camera when they fly over. I’ll run a stack of the best in Valley Views on Wednesday.

The Blue Angels are certainly the biggest game in town, but not the only one this weekend. The Gardnerville Main Street Fall Fest is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Heritage Park. Green Living Day is 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the River Fork Ranch in Genoa.

If your ears have stopped ringing from the air show, Carson Valley Pops free concert is 6 p.m. Saturday at the CVIC Hall. Tickets are available today at GadZooks! in Gardnerville.

Cooler weather is on tap today through the weekend with the high temperature today around 76 degrees, climbing to around 80 by Sunday. The wind will shift to the north this afternoon 5-10 mph.
