A brief statement about your platform

To end Government public corruption, restore public safety, protect our children from wrongful indoctrination at schools, and provide the people of the State of the Nevada government transparency that they are entitled to.

What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position

I have no criminal record, unlike my opponent who couldn’t qualify to be an LVMPD officer, let alone the Top Cop. I’ve practiced law for over 20 years in both criminal and civil law sectors, in federal and state courts and have litigated in every level court in this state.

Record of service

Education

I have earned five degrees, which include his law degree and Ph.D. in Educational Administration from The Ohio State University, as well as degrees in interdisciplinary studies, international education, and educational administration. I previously served as both the Majority Leader and the Minority Leader in the Nevada State Legislature and held leadership roles on several legislative committees. I also spent many years in private practice as a partner at both Snell & Wilmer LLP and Eglet Adams in Las Vegas. Before practicing law, I served as a public school math teacher, shaping hundreds of lives.

Why are you running?

As Nevada’s People’s Attorney and Top Law Enforcement Officer, I believe there is no task greater than the pursuit of justice. Under my leadership, the Nevada Attorney General’s Office has proven there is no criminal too ruthless and no corporation too powerful to take on if they are hurting Nevadans.

Briefly describe the core duties of the position you are running for

AG Ford’s goal continues to be helping to protect Nevada families. AG Ford believes there is no task greater than the pursuit of justice and has adopted the office motto of “Our Job is Justice.”

A brief statement about your platform

As the chief law enforcement officer for the state, my goal continues to be helping to protect Nevada families. I believe there is no task greater than the pursuit of justice and have adopted the office motto of “Our Job is Justice.” My priority areas include the “Five Cs”: constitutional rights, criminal justice reform, consumer protection, client service, and community engagement. I have held several town hall forums to talk directly with Nevadans on relevant topics such as racial injustice, law enforcement policies, hate crimes, and identity theft.

I have specifically fought hard to rebuild trust between police and Nevada’s communities and work with law enforcement to expand programs that support victims of crime. My office has

expanded programs that bring community leaders and law enforcement together to stop violence before it causes tragedy. And we were able to unanimously pass two criminal justice bills in 2021 – one that reforms the use of “no knock” warrants, and another that allows his office to investigate police departments who are alleged to be engaging in patterns of unlawful policing.

A dozen law enforcement groups support my re-election because, as Nevada’s Top Prosecutor, I have been committed to public safety and to justice.

What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?

From passing bipartisan legislation to protect communities and law enforcement alike, to landing over $300M in historic settlements suing opioid manufacturers, pushing for common-sense gun safety laws, and safeguarding access to abortion in Nevada – my leadership as Nevada Attorney General has drawn praise from folks across the political spectrum. The Nevada Sun wrote that I “served the state well during the pandemic [and] sees no reason to abandon his leadership now.”

Under my direction, Nevada’s Office of Attorney General has made protecting consumers from fraud, scams, and anti-competitive activity a top priority. During my tenure in office, OAG’s Bureau of Consumer Protection secured over $100-million in recoveries on behalf of Nevada consumers. Consistent with my commitment to help Nevada families, I have aggressively pursued those responsible for fueling Nevada’s opioid crisis. We have secured over $330-million for the state by suing opioid manufacturers and distributors and getting federal grants to fight the epidemic. That includes Nevaa’s part of a $26-billion opioid settlement with the three largest opioid distributors. With this money, Nevada will establish programs and services that are needed right now – and will force the drug companies to change their behaviors to ensure this never happens again.

I always strive to help those around me, particularly our most vulnerable communities. I have held two statewide law enforcement summits with local and national experts to fight human trafficking; I help lead Nevada’s sexual assault kit initiative and am proud to have completed the State’s initiative to test nearly 8,000 previously untested sexual assault kits; and I worked with my prosecutors to revive a cold case and bring justice for a Nevada mother who lost her daughter to a brutal murder more than 40 years ago.
