 Douglas High’s Allen Baker took home the Class 5A boys regional diving title last week at the Carson Valley Swim Center.
Baker posted a score of 389.80 in the boys 1-meter dive competition, winning the regional title for Douglas.
Baker’s teammate, Grant Gomes, was second in the regional standings with a score of 373.55.
Elsewhere, Jesse LoPresto won the 50-yard freestlye in a time of 21.96 while his teammate, Matthew Beam, is also headed to the state swim meet after posting a 22.45.
LoPresto also qualified in the 100-yard butterfly where he has the sixth fastest time in the state, heading into this weekend’s state meet.
Calvin Stevenson won the regional title in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 47.55, to take the top qualifying spot for the state meet.
On the girls side, Barrett Lee is state bound in the 200-yard individual medley after posting a 2:16.82.
As a team, the Douglas girls were fourth with 232 points at last week’s regional swim meet while the Tiger boys took third with a score of 305.5.
