Tiger harriers go 1-2 in home meet

 Douglas High harries post solid marks in home meet
The Douglas High girls’ track and field team put together the best marks fo the four teams in attendance this past weekend with a team score of 75.5, topping second place Reno (73.5).
The Tiger boys finished second with 74 team points, falling only to the Huskies, who were first with 89 total team points.
On the individual marks, Jessica James showed why she will continue to be one of the top sprinters in the North, winning both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. James also took first in the long jump for the Tigers.
In her fourth event, James was third in the 400, coming up two-tenths of a second off of the top pace.
Logan Karwoski was the top 100-meter hurdler for the Tigers as a sophomore, finishing in 19.99.
Sophie Marchut won the shot put with a long toss of 30 feet, two inches while also taking home the discus title as well.

Bliss Moody cleared 5 feet, three inches to win the high jump marks as a freshman while senior Sara Weaver jumped over 9-6 to win the pole vault event.

On the boys side, Dakota Jones was third in the 100-meter dash.

AJ Thurston and Grady Frensdorff took 1-2 for the Tigers in the 400-meter dash as well.

Dylan Spear-Holub was the top sprinter in the 110-meter hurdles in 18.74 while Caleb Lewis won the discus with a mark of 110-3.

In the high jump, sophomore Ethan Palmer cleared 5-10 to take home the top mark.

Rock Gignac was first in he long jump, measuring 18-5.25. Gignac also won the triple jump, edging out Palmer.
