The Kiwanis Aktion Club of Carson Valley has had a busy year.
Based on their achievements in 2020-2021, this little club was honored with a distinguished club award.
“Considering that only 12 of these awards were given across the entire U.S.A., Eastern Canada, and the Caribbean, this is a remarkable accomplishment,” organizers said.

To continue with their mission of service to the community, the club members are continuing their individual service projects.

As a group, they are gathering ideas for their next group service project and their next fund raiser, and they are having fun along the way.

In February, after a presentation by Megan Crandall, the members voted unanimously to donate $200 to the victims of the tornados in Kentucky and Tennessee.

The check will be sent to another Aktion Club in that area for distribution. That same meeting ended with JP Park offering everyone brownies that he had baked that day.

The Kiwanis Aktion Club is a service club for adults with disabilities.

There are more than 11,000 members in 14 countries.

The Club motto is “Where Development Has No Disability.”

You can find more information online at www.aktionclub.org, or by contacting Gary Dove, the club advisor, at gsdpidge@aol.com.

Regular meetings are on the first and third Mondays of the month at 5 p.m. in the Dining Room at the Community Center.
