Genoa, Nev. — Alpine County supervisors are meeting 9 a.m. today to ratify an emergency declaration and allocate $65,000 in tobacco money to the Alpine Chamber of Commerce to provide financial relief to the residents and businesses.


Douglas County Mosquito Abatement has signs up that they’re fogging in Genoa this evening. Good thing, too, I went for a walk last week to clear my head and even after spraying, I came home with six bites.


Douglas County Planning commissioners approved a permit to allow a 266-unit senior living and residential care facility in the multi-family residential located on the Riverwood property north of Topsy Lane. That project is shaping up on paper, at least.


Today is the deadline for Genoans to get questions to HR for the new town manager search. That process will culminate with in-person interviews on Aug. 18.


There’s a land division application to divide 38.52 acres of Bently land into four parcels near Out-R-Way and Jacobsen 2 p.m. today on the third floor of the Minden Inn. Clear Creek is realigning and consolidating parcels around the club, as well.


I can see clearly, now the rain is gone … from the forecast for the next week, at least. There’s a slight chance out a week, but that’s like placing a bet on the Super Bowl outcome today.


Today, expect sunny skies and a high temperature near 88 degrees, with the wind picking up out of the southwest at 10-15 mph this morning.
