Photo Club show in Genoa this weekend

‘Fast Food’ by Dave Morgan won the April Carson Valley Photo Club contest.

Work produced by the members of the Carson Valley Photo Club will be on display as part of the Genoa Western Heritage Days.

The club’s photography show at the Whit Hall Memorial Conservancy Center on Genoa Lane today and Sunday.

The club will have photography for sale at the show. 

April 2022 found 22 members in attendance for the club’s Zoom meeting. 

Our guest presenter was Extension Educator Lindsay Chichester who spoke on bee keeping. 

She focused on the food chain and supply for bees. The month of June is Pollinator Month. There is a Bee Keeping Club.

Photography judge for the member contest was former R-C and Tahoe Daily Tribune photojournalist Jim Grant. 

First place went to David Morgan for his photograph he called “Fast Food.”

Second place went to Joe Clements and his photo entitled “Sunset at Cruise Port.” Third-place winner was awarded to Carol Heinricy for her photograph “Delicate Arch.” The club’s winning photos may be seen in The Record-Courier, Facebook at Carson Valley Photo Club, or viewed at the Douglas County Public Library.

The photo contest topic for May will be horses, domestic or wild.

The club said it hoped to resume in-person meetings. The public is invited. 1275 Centerville Lane at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church.
