“The Boys are Back,” on stage for the Mr. DHS title on Friday.

The Mr. DHS pageant has been a Douglas High School tradition since 2007 where senior boys compete in their version of a “beauty pageant” complete with an opening dance number, showing a talent, answering questions on command and giving a pick-up line.

“It’s a fun event and is always a big hit,” said Douglas High School Director of Activities Karen Lamb. “It was canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic and last year we had a drive-by version where everything was prerecorded. We’re excited to have the boys back on stage.”

The pageant helps raise funds for the DHS Safe and Sober Grad Night for the Class of 2022.

The Mr. DHS pageant will be 6 p.m. April 29 at the CVIC Hall. Cost is $20. Tickets are being sold at Douglas High School in room 107. Tickets will not be sold at the door. For more information contact Karen Lamb at 782-5136.
