The Carson Valley Art Association announced the opening of their art show on Wednesday at the Copeland Gallery in Minden. The show runs through May 30.

The Carson Valley Art Association is a local nonprofit organization interested in a variety of artistic mediums such as watercolor, oil, acrylic, and photography. The purpose of the club is to develop a high standard of art amongst the members and to promote an appreciation of the arts in Douglas County and surrounding area.

The club is particularly interested in education, and provides scholarships to qualified high school students.  Funds for the scholarships are raised by an annual Scholarship Benefit Show in November.  This Show, and others, are open to the public to exhibit, and are free to attend.

The CVAA reception is 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Copeland Gallery. Residents are invited to come meet the artists.
