Genoa, Nev. — The Carson Valley Visitor’s Authority is seeking feedback from residents through a survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/visitcarsonvalley A hard copy of the survey will appear in Thursday’s edition of The Record-Courier.


The jobless rate in Douglas County dropped to 5.2 percent in February, according to figures released by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation on Wednesday morning. That’s 1.2 percent up from February 2020’s 4 percent. The labor force hasn’t quite recovered from the pandemic.


Taxable sales showed a healthy January, with a 6.8 percent increase to $68.8 million during the month, according to the Nevada Department of Taxation. General merchandise and nonstore retailers both had a good month.


We’re going to spend the next few days enjoying a warming trend with highs climbing to 67 degrees today and into the 70s Thursday through Sunday. The wind will be calm picking up out of the northwest at 5 mph this afternoon.
