Genoa, Nev. — The effort to claw back $1.1 million from the Regional Transportation Commission returns to the county commission today. Commissioners meet at 1 p.m. and will be trotting out a Zoom Webinar feature. You have to register in advance at http://douglascountynv.iqm2.com/Citizens/Default.aspx


I’ll post the whole suite of connections this morning. For those of us who just watch, I’m asking if the You Tube link will still be working. My bet is that it is.


A Douglas man in his 70s was the fourth death from the coronavirus reported in six days. The county had four new cases and four recoveries reported on Wednesday.


Bad weather across the country is delaying the arrival of vaccine in Nevada. A vaccination event set for today has been rescheduled. If you’ve got an appointment, Carson City Health and Human Services will let you know where that’s happening. If you got a confirmation for today, disregard it.


If someone broke into your vehicle over the last week, and you haven’t reported it to the sheriff’s office, they’d like to hear from you. Two chases in three days appear to be connected with a vehicle burglary ring. Call Sgt. Jon Storke at 782-9905 if you’ve got information.


The Board of Examiners have some homework after the owners of Beach Club brought in a 50-page appraisal on Wednesday to support their appeal of a $35 million tax valuation. They’re going to return next week to make a decision.


We’ll see increasingly cloudy skies today with a high temperature of 48 degrees. The wind will pick up to around 5 mph this afternoon. There’s still a chance of snow on Friday night.
