Genoa, Nev. — I’ll follow up today on a tip there was a motorhome fire in Gardnerville around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. During this week leading up to Christmas, let’s give our first-responders a break by being careful.

A 7-year-old was reportedly injured at Sled Hill over the weekend, though not in a sled. The call said he slipped on the road and a tire went over his foot. School’s out until next year for Christmas break. That means there’ll be children out walking along Valley routes on their way to parks and other attractions. Keep an eye out for them.

Interim Library Director Julia Brown said her personnel review went well last week. She still is only interested in the temporary position. The Library Board of Trustees meets Jan. 11 to figure out what’s next in their search for a new Librarian.

I’m issuing a last call for anyone interested in having their home Christmas displays featured in Thursday’s edition. I talked Saturday with Guy and Karen Wondka-LeFever in Genoa about their display, which may well be visible from the Tahoe Rim Trail, at least.

There’s another freezing fog advisory for Western Nevada through 10 a.m. today. The traffic cameras are showing some dense fog in Reno, but in Carson Valley it’s sticking to the river.

What fog there is should clear by 9 a.m. It’s sunny out this morning, but that’s forecast to change with cloud cover easing in this afternoon. Expect a high temperature of 45 degrees and calm today.
