Northern Nevada’s Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor Club's 25th anniversary Antique Engine and Tractor Show has been canceled.

The show was to take place this weekend, but because the Fairgrounds have been occupied by the incident command for the Tamarack Fire, organizers had to cancel the event.

In other fire news, Douglas Disposal will be removing the debris boxes today and not replace them with new boxes due to an increase of disposal in nonhousehold waste. Douglas Disposal will still provide self-haul trash collection, at no cost, for non-Douglas Disposal customers from the affected areas through Monday. The Transfer Station hours of operation are Tuesday – Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 pm.

Bently Ranch is still accepting burned vegetation from the Tamarack Fire at their compost yard (1089 Stockyard Road, Minden, NV). Bently Ranch has agreed to accept the burned vegetation from Douglas Disposal at no charge. This offer is also extended to the general public who want to self-haul burned vegetation from the Tamarack Fire. Bently Ranch only requests that customers show proof of residency in the Tamarack Fire burn area and their burned vegetation debris will be accepted at no cost. This offer has also been extended to Alpine County residents in the Tamarack Fire burn area.

Douglas County has created a webpage with links to resources and information regarding recovery. This page includes information regarding what to do when returning home after an evacuation and a fire, emotional and behavioral health resources, and contact information for a variety of support agencies.
