Douglas High School seniors will be sporting formal wear and touring scenic locations on Saturday as part of Prom Around the Valley.

The prom is officially 4-8 p.m., however, don’t be surprised to see seniors dressed to the nines throughout the evening, including at area restaurants.

The high school’s Junior Officers and Student Leadership are organizing the event.

With each purchased ticket, students will be able to attend places around the valley with their friends including Genoa, Minden Park and CVIC Hall.

At each location, students will receive admission to each area, a free download of a professionally taken photo, and a prom favor. The crowning of 2021 Prom King & Queen will take place at 7:30 p.m. on the Douglas High School Nevada Lawn.

The Save Our Seniors group announced that it donated $4,500 to Douglas High students in need to pay for caps and gowns, yearbooks, graduation announcements and prom tickets. The group is continuing a weekly raffle, giving away $50 gift cards to a randomly drawn student from the class of 2021. This week Minden Meat and Deli is the “Business of the Week.”

For details students can check their Google Classroom or follow the group’s social media accounts at: Facebook: www.Facebook.com/sosdhsclassof2021 and Instagram: www.Instagram.com/sosdhsclassof2021.
