Genoa, Nev. — Highway 88 should be open this morning after the county started installation of box culverts where it crosses Cottonwood Slough just south of Minden. The closure will be back next weekend to wrap up the project.


This week will see overnight roadwork 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Highway 50 from Stateline to Lake Parkway. Centerville between Highway 88 and Foothill is closed this week as paving continues.

Last week’s storm didn’t seem to slow down the fruit tree flowering, at all. Now might be a good time to start plucking buds if you want to reduce the crop come fall.


If we’re real lucky, we might see a few April showers on Tuesday. Today it will be sunny and warm with a high temperature of 76 degrees and the wind picking up out of the west at 10-15 mph this afternoon.
