Common sense, safety lacking for Carson City’s road planning

Why is narrowing the only smooth four-lane highway, or street, in Carson City, Nevada’s capital, sensible? Changing four busy lanes to two from the Fandango Casino, south to Highway 50 to the Lake Tahoe turnoff, is a dangerous, moneywasting plan! Presently, directly above said casino, 375-plus apartment-condos are being constructed. Obviously, more congested traffic must use the planned two-lane narrowed street. Our Carson City streets are badly in need of repairs: Main Carson Street and most side streets are pothole-laden, a sad introduction to our capital city. “Explanation” for lane reduction? Pedestrian paths and bicycle lanes are needed! Where are common sense and safety? Again, minority rules, not majority.
