Nevada Wolf Pack moves up in both polls


The 28-3 University of Nevada men’s basketball team moved up three spots in the Associated Press poll to No. 14 and is up one spot to No. 17 in the USA Today Coaches polls released on Monday. The Wolf Pack has appeared in the last 24 polls dating back to last season and in the top 20 every week this season.

The Pack’s highest ranking of the season was No. 5 on Nov. 26 in the AP poll and No. 5 on Dec. 31 in the USA Today Coaches poll. Both are the highest rankings in school history.

Nevada captured its third consecutive Mountain West regular season championships on Saturday defeating San Diego State 81-53. The Wolf Pack is the top seed in the MW Tournament and will play the winner of the Boise State and Colorado State game on Thursday at noon at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
