The Capital City Community Band will hold its annual fundraising concert on Jan. 27.

Director Nick Jacques and the Capital City Community Band will present their annual fundraising concert at 3 p.m. Jan. 27 at the First Presbyterian Church at King and Division streets in Carson City. The suggested donation is $10.

The program is favorite songs selected by the audience and band members over the years.

For 41 years, the Capital City Community Band has provided music free of charge to the community. At the Nevada Day Concert, the baton was passed from founding director, Richard Doede, to Nick Jacques, who will continue to lead the band in several free concerts throughout the year. Although the band is all volunteer, there are expenses: cost of music, insurance, room rentals, equipment, storage, etc. The proceeds from this concert will assist the band to meet these obligations and to continue providing the community with outstanding music.

The next concert will be “A Salute to Young Musicians” at 3 p.m. March 17 at Bob Boldrick Theater, Carson Community Center.
