Talk of the Town: Hanifan’s the place for antiques

Do you have something you treasure?

An antique with a story or two?

Something passed down in your family

A collectable with considerable age

And a history you never knew

Hanifin’s Arts & Antiques is on Carson Street

Or Curry if you prefer

They have the widest selection

Of fine antiques

Imported from all over the world

Michael Robbins is the owner

Along with his cohort Vera Treat

Together they restore and refinish

Along with buying and selling art and antiques

I love looking at all their antiques

And strolling through their store

Thinking about each item and piece

And where they have been before

Clocks, vases, tables, chairs, dressers, headboards,

Lamps, silver, crystal, sleds, doll carriages, and sculptures

Just to name a few

I was particularly drawn to the wooden carousel horse

Didn’t you use to ride them when you were two?

Michael likes the functional pieces

Something you’ll use at home

Vera likes the mystery of the piece

And what it was used for

I like antiques for what they represent

Beautiful style of years gone by

Artistic, classic and functional

Something special to buy

Come and stroll through Hanifin’s

The antiques are lovely to see

You can buy a classic piece with value

And a touch of history
