Carson City gymnastics team shines in Reno

Carson City’s Silver State Gymnastics Academy had numerous standout performances at Reno’s Jake Dalton Invitational this past weekend. Results were:

Xcel Bronze Division: Junior A — Brittany Ruiz placed third on bars, second on beam. Junior B — Madeline Smith placed third on vault, and second on beam and floor and winning third place all-around (AA). Catherine Harrah was third on bars and beam.

Senior B — Haylee Butler finished first on bars, second on beam and floor, and won first place AA, Morgan Saindon was first on vault and took home third place AA.

Silver State placed second as a team in Xcel Bronze.

Xcel Gold Division: Junior A — Alyssa Matthies was first on vault and was first place AA; Junior B — Hayley Williams was second on vault and beam, first on floor, and first place AA. Ali Maschke placed third on vault, bars, floor, and the AA.

Senior B — Tabby Thompson was first on vault, second on bars, and third place AA.

Silver State placed second in Xcel Gold.

Junior Olympic Level 7 Division: Junior B — Emily Lewis placed second on vault, bars, beam, and AA. Senior A — Eviana McGowan was second on bars, first on beam, and first place AA. Eliana Holler was third on bars, beam, and floor. Elle Liebendorfer was first on bars.

Silver State placed third in Junior Olympic Level 7.
