Jeff Leep to perform at the Carson Rotary Mardi Gras celebration

Jeff Leep and his Catahoula Mardi Gras Party Band will perform at the Carson Rotary Mardi Gras Celebration on Saturday in the Casino Fandango Grand Ballroom. The event features dancing, Cajun and Creole food, a raffle, live auction and Mardi Gras costume contest.

Leep, owner of Leep Entertainment in Reno, has been performing throughout Northern Nevada for nearly three decades and fronts several bands of varying styles.

His Catahoula Mardi Gras Band specializes in Zydeco, Cajun and other New Orleans style music.

“We start with many of the great Mardi Gras classics with Cajun, Zydeco, Blues, a little Dixieland, and classics from bands like the Funky Meters and Dr. John,” Leep said. “We love to play music that gets people on their feet and on to the dance floor.”

Carson Rotarian Barbara D’Anneo says the club is thrilled Leep and his musicians will be part of the festivities.

“Jeff and his fellow musicians rival any big city band. They are amazing entertainers; I know our party goers are going to really enjoy the music.”

Proceeds from the Mardi Gras Celebration benefit the Carson Rotary’s youth scholarships and leadership programs.

“I’m looking forward to playing at the Carson City Rotary Mardi Gras event on Saturday, because we have a lot of friends in Carson who like to party” Leep said, adding “We don’t get a chance to play in that area much, and this is a great opportunity to have fun for an excellent cause”.

Tickets are $100 and available at www.carsonrotary.org or from any Carson Rotary member.
