Step into Morley’s Books

It’s like stepping back in time.

Housed in the Edward Sweeney Building,

Built around 1864.

It once was the heart of Carson City.

But now, historically speaking,

It offers so much more.

It housed many a business,

Just to name a few —

A bar, a brothel, a Post Office,

Hotel and boarding house too.

Now, let me get back to the bookstore.

With books that are one of a kind,

You’ll find there is an awareness of history

That withstands the passage of time.

Of course, I’m told the boss is in.

The cat, his name is Val.

But if you observe him closely

I can see it is Micheal’s pal.

Of course, there’s some ghostly findings.

What I would call “Woo, Woo!”

A boy with no name,

And an unexplained cigar smell

That is wafting through.

There is a fine bar for the Wine Walk.

More than a 100 years old.

Come in, take a look,

Buy a rare book.

You’ll find a treasure

More precious than gold!
